Glazing Options

A fundamental element of bifolding doors is glass. Glass increases the light in your home, gives the impression of space and unrestricted views with a beautiful modern look that appeals to homeowners and designers alike. The options available are amazing but not overwhelming and our sales team will assist you in selecting the glazing options most suitable for yourself and your home.

As standard we offer 28mm double glazed units with toughened active self cleaning glass, however we are more than happy to offer you the widest range of glazing options available at the best trade prices. In short the glazing within your bi-folding door will determine the warmth of your home in the winter, and could keep the room cool in the summer. As all homes are different and our doors are purchased for different purposes we will not claim one type of glazing is the best solution, however we have hand-picked several options for your consideration:

Enviro-Tx.N warm edge space bar
The spacer bar sits between the two panes of glass in double glazed units. If you look at the double glazing in your home you will see the spacer bar, up to 80% of energy loss through a window occurs at the spacer bar. Enviro-TX.N is an essential component of superior double glazing. Bi folding doors manufactured by Express are thermally broken however standard double glazing will affect the thermal properties of the door, incorporating the warm edge spacer bar enables its thermally efficient properties to reduce heat loss through your windows. Enviro-TX.N is good news for the environment and even better news for you, the benefits include: • Up to 94% reduced heat loss. • Up to 70% reduced condensation. • Up to 65% warmer at the edge. • Up to 2db reduced noise.

SGG Cool-Lite St150- Solar Control Glass

An absolute must if your doors are South facing. Think of stepping into a greenhouse in the middle of summer, Standard glazing maximises the heat from the sun and can make the temperature in a room quite uncomfortable. Cool-Lite ST150 is a coated glass which prevents this. Cool-Lite ST150 enhances visual comfort by filtering light and offers excellent solar control performance, hence reducing air conditioning costs.
